Why the IAKP?
I am certified through the International Association of Kambo Practitioners (IAKP), for many reasons. First and foremost, they are an organization that is dedicated to promoting ethical practices throughout all avenues of this work.
When you are trained with the IAKP, you dive into a comprehensive learning process about all aspects of Kambo- the history, the science of the secretion, safety guidelines, etc.- in order to hold impeccable space for the transformations that Kambô facilitates. Offering my clients a grounded, safe, informed and clear space with integrity is of the deepest importance to me.
Additionally, the IAKP are in intimate contact with native people of the Amazon, most specifically the Matsés Tribe in Peru. This tribe are who they source the secretion from, and they are committed to compensating them as fairly as possible for the immense work they are doing being stewards of the Frog- protecting and harvesting with respect.
The organization also aims to continue all of their practitioners’ education about working with the secretion in the safest and best ways after they move through their certification programs. They also do their part in educating the public about Kambô’s benefits and uses.
